Procedures for Dealing with Complaints and Appeals
European Economic Letters (EEL) is committed to fair, transparent, and timely handling of complaints and appeals related to the editorial and publication process.
Complaints
Complaints may relate to editorial decisions, peer review processes, publication ethics, or delays in handling manuscripts. Complaints should be submitted to the editorial office with clear details and supporting evidence.
Appeals Against Editorial Decisions
Authors may appeal editorial decisions (including rejection) by:
- Submitting a written appeal with a detailed justification
- Providing point-by-point responses to reviewer and editor comments
The journal will review the appeal objectively, and an independent editor or additional reviewer may be assigned. The decision after appeal will be final.
Investigation Process
- All complaints and appeals will be handled confidentially
- The editorial team will assess the issue and may request additional information
- Cases will be resolved in a timely and impartial manner, following established ethical guidelines
Outcomes
Depending on the nature of the complaint or appeal, outcomes may include:
- Clarification or explanation of editorial decisions
- Re-evaluation of the manuscript
- Correction, retraction, or other appropriate action
- Corrective Actions to improve editorial processes
