Unethical Behaviour Policy
European Economic Letters (EEL) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. Any form of unethical behaviour is strictly prohibited and will be addressed promptly and transparently.
Forms of Unethical Behaviour
Unethical practices include, but are not limited to:
- Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism)
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Improper authorship or undisclosed contributions
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
- Manipulation of the peer review process
Reporting Misconduct
Anyone may report suspected unethical behaviour by contacting the editorial office with relevant details and evidence. All reports will be treated confidentially.
Investigation Process
The journal will investigate allegations in accordance with internationally accepted ethical guidelines. Authors may be asked to provide explanations, data, or supporting documents.
Actions and Sanctions
If misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate action, including:
- Rejection of the manuscript
- Retraction or correction of the published article
- Notification to the authors’ institutions
- Temporary or permanent ban on future submissions
Post-Publication Issues
If unethical behaviour is discovered after publication, the journal will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
