Retraction Policy
European Economic Letters (EEL) is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. Articles may be retracted when there is clear evidence of serious ethical or scientific issues.
Grounds for Retraction
Retraction may occur in cases of:
- Plagiarism or redundant publication
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Major errors that invalidate the findings
- Unethical research or misconduct
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest affecting the work
Retraction Process
- Retractions may be initiated by authors, editors, or institutions
- The journal will conduct an investigation before making a decision
- Authors will be informed and given an opportunity to respond
Retraction Notice
- A formal retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article
- The original article will remain online but clearly marked as “Retracted”
- The reason for retraction will be transparently stated
Correction Policy
European Economic Letters (EEL) allows corrections to ensure accuracy and reliability of published content.
Types of Corrections
- Erratum: Correction of errors introduced by the journal
- Corrigendum: Correction of errors made by the authors
Correction Process
- Corrections may be requested by authors or identified by editors/readers
- The editorial team will review the request and supporting evidence
- Approved corrections will be published promptly
Correction Notice
- A correction notice will be linked to the original article
- The article may be updated with clear indication of the changes
- Minor errors that do not affect interpretation may be corrected without formal notice
