Abstract

This paper examines the factors that impact rural development in India and the challenges faced in achieving sustainable development in rural areas. The study explores various factors such as poverty, inadequate infrastructure, low education levels, lack of access to financial services, and limited technological advancement that hinder the development process in rural areas. It also investigates the role of government policies and programs in addressing these challenges and promoting rural development. The analysis highlights the need for a comprehensive approach that involves the participation of all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and local communities, to address the underlying causes of rural underdevelopment in India. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of implementing policies that promote sustainable development and empower rural communities to overcome the challenges they face in achieving their development goals. Sample of 239 respondents are considered for study survey to know the factors that affects the rural development and its challenges in India and found that Infrastructure, Government policies, change in climate and financial services are the factors that affects the rural development and its challenges in India.
