Abstract

Businesses have been greatly affected by the rise of digital transformation and digitisation, especially in light of the COVID-19 epidemic. A comprehensive literature evaluation on digitalisation and financial success is the goal of this research. The main goals are to review the current state of digital transformation research, identify areas that need further investigation, and suggest avenues for future study and policy implications, with a focus on how digital transformation is changing in companies and how it affects their bottom lines. Using the PRISMA guidelines for methodological consistency and uniformity, a comprehensive literature review was carried out, with a focus on digitisation and financial performance. The main topics and subthemes were identified by analysing 71 academic articles published between 2016 and 2024. An extensive research that includes academic journals, regions, authors' works, and academic institutions has examined the growth of the current literature. There does not seem to be a unified theoretical framework in the existing literature that studies digital transformation and how it affects the bottom line of businesses. This systematic literature review provides useful insights for practitioners, decision-makers, and academics by summarising the existing body of knowledge and suggesting new avenues for future research.
