A bibliometric analysis of the Indian banks' performance and productivity between 1972 to 2023

Abstract
This article aims to analyze how researchers study banking, bank performance, bank diversification, and crises. Furthermore, the progression of these disciplines in the 20th and 21st centuries. A plethora of empirical, exploratory, and philosophical studies have been conducted about the bank's finances, diversification, economic recessions, and financial crises. Nevertheless, there have been limited efforts to provide a thorough scientific mapping of banking and its performance as a distinct subject. Thus, the objective of the study is to consolidate knowledge pertaining to research trends.
