Organizational Climate in Certain Selected Electrical Companies of India: A Comparative Study of Male vs. Female

Abstract

The present study investigates gender-wise perceptions of organizational environment and their impact on employee behavior and performance in selected Indian electrical companies. With women's increasing contribution to national income and employment, it becomes essential to identify factors affecting organizational climate and provide measures to provide a supportive work environment for employees of both genders. The study is based on primary data collected from 300 employees in lower and middle management, as well as 25 top-level management personnel in Mumbai, Pune, Baroda, and Daman. Key findings highlight that while friendly atmosphere and free communication are valued, disparities persist in areas such as leadership styles and job satisfaction and Decision –making participation. Further the study recommendations for creating a more inclusive and productive organizational climate, focusing on HR policies, conflict resolution, and cultural diversity acceptance.
