Abstract

Retrofitting residential buildings is not a technical problem that can be solved by installing equipment and making logical decisions; rather, it is a complicated socio-technical issue that necessitates taking into account how physical arrangements encourage sustainable activities. Stakeholder plays a very important part in taking decision regarding retrofitting an existing building. There are different stakeholders involved in the process of retrofitting and analysing their influence can give a wider view on the challenges and come out with strategies to overcome. This study aims to analyse the stakeholders’ level of influence involved in retrofitting. The study revealed that stakeholders influence on retrofitting projects are not limited. The importance stakeholders spreads to other groups, emphasizing the necessity of precise laws, rewards, and funding sources.
